Almost Independence Day

It is almost Independence Day in the United States. And independence day from global central bank intervention may also be finally approaching for the global economy and its financial markets. After years of being artificially propped up and distorted by relentlessly accommodative central banks, we are rapidly approaching new major inflection points for the direction of global fiscal and monetary policy going forward. Just as American Revolutionary War did not fully play itself out overnight, the return to independence for global financial markets is a transformation that will evolve slowly, take time and result in periods of pain along the way. But if global central bankers resist, such change will eventually come anyway whether they like it or not.
