A Productive Development For Stocks

Industrial production, which is a critical reading for the underlying health of the U.S. economy and an important driver of the stock market over time, has shown some renewed strength over the last few months. While it still has a way to go, continuing to build on recent gains in industrial production would help in providing some fundamental support to a market that is otherwise deeply lacking. But it is not only gains in the index itself but also the composition of these gains that will require improvement going forward.
